Energy Is a Strategy: Why Enthusiasm at Work Isn’t Optional

Most people often talk about business strategy in terms of frameworks, data, and execution plans.

But let me offer you something different: energy.

Energy is a strategy.

Not in a vague or motivational way—but as a tangible, powerful lever for performance.

Over the years, I’ve seen how the emotional tone of a team sets the pace for what’s possible. When I walk into a room, I strive to not just bring a plan - I strive to bring energy. Because enthusiasm is contagious, and when a leader shows up with belief, others do too.

In learning about my personality and how I operate, I’m keen on influence and enthusiasm – tending to place an emphasis on relationships and influencing others, in addition to putting effort into achieving goals.

I enjoy facilitating great experiences with others, as a key connector in our business. Once I left the Athletics space 4+ years ago and ventured into various roles within the corporate world, I really saw my energy and passion make a difference.

It’s a special sauce that I have - and I know it’s on me to make sure that hits a certain level each and every day.

I say that not to brad - but to enlighten others. That energy fuels momentum. It shifts posture. It gets people leaning in, rather than waiting to be told what to do. It turns obligation into ownership.

And here’s the truth most people miss: enthusiasm is a choice. You don’t have to fake it—but you do have to find it, and be genuine with it. In the product, in the mission, in the people. You have to locate what lights you up, then let that fire illuminate others.

This isn’t about being loud or bubbly. It’s about presence. Conviction. Belief that moves the room forward.

Because in the end, the best teams don’t just follow smart plans. They follow leaders who give them something to believe in.

And belief is built through energy.
